Designer Kala Wilburn, owner of Fannie Lucille.

Tonight I had the opportunity to view some of  the latest items in the Fannie Lucille collection by Kala Wilburn at the Glam Boutique. In addition to her impressive fashion resume, Kala has a deep-rooted sense of community service. After working for major fashion brands such as Marc Ecko, Kala brought her talents back to her hometown of Flint, Michigan. As a designer, Kala  founded Vehicle City Fashion week. VCFW serves as a showcase for local designers and artists as well as a fundraiser for her organization Fashion Against Violence. The Fashion Against Violence movement serves to develop skills of individuals interested in Fashion and Art in urban communities.

A dream will continue to be just a dream if you don’t believe in it. It won’t manifest.

The newest piece in Kala’s line is a tank emblazoned with the words “It was all a dream”. She explained that a lot of her dreams were dormant as she continued in her career. “A dream will continue to be just a dream if you don’t believe in it. It won’t Manifest.”

Grab your own “It was all a Dream” tank at FannieLucille.com or contact Kala for one of her custom pieces.
